10/10/08 update
Oy Vey! It was Yom Kippur week and Wall Street had much atoning to do. At Friday's close, the Nasdaq Composite Index was down -37.81% YTD (vs. -26.58% YTD a week ago), while the Nasdaq Biotech Index was down -21.02% YTD (vs. down -4.95% YTD a week ago). The Invisible Hand also slapped around the Contest portfolios pretty hard, with the median closing down -39.12% YTD (vs. down -25.65% YTD a week ago).
At week's end, of the 33 portfolios only Gene's was in the black YTD, with a mere 4 beating the NBI. GENE's portfolio, of course, was in the lead, with a miraculous 79.9% YTD gain. ROBERT's portfolio held on to second place with a -.92% YTD loss.
