A great concept in theory but when it comes to application, exceptionally difficult to execute. The premise of their entire model is that by combining complimentary businesses under one umbrella, they are able to deliver increased value across the supply chain with greater efficiency than their competitors are able to do.

First, they don't have the management to execute such a broad sweeping strategy. Their most recent 'management changes' are not impressive. For example, how much time has Peter Dawes (new President of the service platform) spent in a wind turbine nacelle? Hub and spoke strategy? Give me a break....think the airlines, grocery home delivery and the USPS.

Second, they have loose systems and little control. Nothing more needs to be said.

Third, and most importantly, there are more and more companies going toe to toe with BWEN's platform companies that have better management and have a better product. Take their tower manufacturing platform. Tower manufacturing is quickly becoming a commodity business (they're popping up all over the country). Another example, services. EMS used to be a decent service provider but has shifted to a model of 'quantity Vs quality' while increasing the rates they charge their customers. When the wind market softens (which it will), they are going to be fully exposed and unable to compete.

My advice, for what it is worth....be careful on BWEN.
