Honest or not, there is no point in talking. It's a waste of time. The positions are firmly entrenched- and folks who think Obama's birth certificate means "something", and that he's a secret Muslim, or a socialist (or more socialist than the republicans)- isn't worth talking to. I mean if you could hold those kinds of views in the first place, when the news is so easy to come by to dispel them, it's obviously a belief system.

On the other hand, folks here are (generally) liberal, and they aren't going to change that based on "facts" because the choice to be liberal or conservative is one that stems from personality, and the way you want society to be. As such, no matter how much people want to call things "right" and "wrong", there really isn't any right or wrong wrt how you want society to be- it's just about what kind of world/society you want to live in.

Again, I don't see the point in discussing that because people get too bent about it.

Everything you want to learn about the right you can learn reading blogs and the right wing news outlets. You will learn what you need to know more quickly, and you won't have to put up with a lot of needless repetition and distraction. The troll river runs both ways- and I personally wish it didn't run either way.
