I am sure you did.

Elves as I think Toyota products never have electrical problems.

Perhaps the coriolis effect making electricity go counterclockwise.

Sounds like a starter motor perhaps gone bad. Most logical reason. But you would have had some warning via grinding and other difficulties.

Odd.

I surely don't know. I think electricity is voodoo, witchcraft. Absolutely do not understand it.
