Thanks for the suggestions C2. I have done battle with vehicles for 45 years and have rarely suffered defeat, though it has become much more complex. At present I have taken a break and retreated into cyberspace to see if NZ market open gives me any ideas.

Electrical issues are not my favourites. I got disgruntled with electricity when we had to start throwing imaginary numbers around in electrical engineering. I preferred visible tactile concrete and dirt, though my idea of Fourier encoded pixelated cellphone calls in 1989 turned out to be enormously profitable. Zenbu, which is all electrical, is doing well too [family Wi-Fi business in NZ]. zenbu.net.nz and family friend business zenbu.co.nz for finding things in NZ.

Look at the Gilbert Connector problems which ruined Globalstar [the main problem was bung marketing ideology but failed satellites was no help]. Electrical hassles. Look at the Zenit rocket crash taking 12 satellites [2 stupid computers outvoted the computer which knew what it was doing].

Yes, starter cables were fine. Possibly a failed battery - I was hurrying to do the jump start and it did crank a bit, so at present I guess bung battery. That's the easiest option. But I had no indication of incipient failure. When the truck in the driveway [cherry picker for replacing neighbour's roof] has gone and I can get another car back down, I'll try jump start again.

Do you understand financial markets as much as you understand electricity? Both are black arts to me. I have theories, which touch reality at times, but tricky stuff.
