Teen lovers murdered near Noida Noida: In a case of suspected honour killing near Delhi a group of people on Thursday allegedly attacked and killed a school boy and his girlfriend in Greater Noida. According to police, the boy and the girl were in love and the girl's family opposed the relationship. The killings were carried out by the girl's family with the knowledge and consent of the boy's family. The 16-year-old boy, Sonu, and his 17-year-old friend Rekha were reportedly dragged out of a public park and beaten to death. The boy was beaten unconscious and later died while the girl was strangulated. "Both of them were found together after which the family took the step. The boy was killed first and later an attempt was made to burn his body. The girl's family may be involved as their house is locked after the murder. The incident happened at 1000 hrs IST on Thursday. We are trying to arrest those involved," RK Chaturvedi, Senior Superintendent of Police, Noida, said. Both of them were from a village called Bher, between Greater Noida and Bulandshahar. Sources say there was also an attempt to burn the boy's body.
