JF, to be sure, the questionable Nobel laureates I listed were all Peace Prize recipients, not economics.

I'm pretty sure Krugman is genuinely intelligent and insightful, much more so than the laureates I listed. However, I have one fundamental disagreement with him, and that's his philosophy that an economy works best when it is well-managed. That assumes, of course, a lot of things that hardly ever pan out in the real world, including the "all-knowing wisdom" of elected officials.
