What am I missing here?

Just making a distinction between the arguments about Ayers and those about Wright. Obama had no serious relationship to Ayers; not even worth mentioning. But Wright was very close to Obama for a rather long time. So, if the premise of these arguments is that one is responsible for one's long term relations, then Wright and Keating are much more similar than Ayers and Keating.

But then to comment on all this, the basic point about Wright is, finally, the same about Ayers, which is that Obama somehow shares their views. That point cannot be made.

Keating is different from all this because McCain parted the political waters for him; Obama did nothing for Wright.
