Yes, the author of the study made your point so well I had to post it.

And the distinctions these studies make about liberal versus conservative thinkers are fascinating. It's almost as though we're different species when it come to our preferences for risk, imagination and fluidity.

With dog breeds you can almost guarantee a dog's basic personality by picking one breed or another. The dogs don't choose; heredity chooses for them. You can, of course, take a tendency of a breed and enhance it with environmental factors, and all dogs will be meaner if their owner is inwardly fearful, but there's a good reason for using some breeds as police dogs, some as herd dogs and some as cuddly pets.

I think the McCain/Palin rallies have too many police dog, scared owner types. And for too long the general public mistook some Democratic herd dogs for cuddly dogs.

Now, if I could just figure out what breed I am. Ed
