Well I sure don't mind an honest disagreemnet - especially with someone I respect as I do you, but I can't figure out your point. I just don't see how turning the argument from Ayers to Wright in any meaningful way changes the heart of McCains campaign. It just sticks in a different name to further the hate.

Now that's an argument that works only for folk who are bothered by Wright

Yes, but it does nothing to change the tone of the campaign, which is what Kristol was arguing. You just are not changing the tone by switching from Ayers to Wright in my mind. I agree with Kristol that this is not what people want to hear. They want to discuss serious problems. They want to know how we get out of our economic morass. That all makes sense to me - but then of all things, Kristol justifies the Wright issue. I guess I just don't get it.
