Hitchens is a disreputable former Trotskyist, who's retained his love of the autocratic style. I do approve of his stance on religion, but any other agreements I find with him are strictly coincidental... I'm baffled as to why he's still such an astonishing hawk over Iraq, but my guess is that he's still refusing to admit how wrong he was. My favourite description of him is "drink-sodden ex-Trotskyist popinjay". A fine example of the only good thing ever to come from the appalling and vile George Galloway, his occasional wit.
