I really think it's absurd to blame him for people borrowing ridiculous amounts of money to buy over-priced houses and bonus-greedy companies lending it, and shareholders thinking it was a good idea and insurers guaranteeing the mortgages. I agree.. There is a problem with the US system and a lot of the problems could be solved with a good long honest look in the mirror.. ... However it is equally absurd IMVHO to laud him for his actions, hold him up as particularly insightful or grant him a knighthood... for his actions.. Greenspan is yet another case of 'smart is not enough'...
