CJ, > . Over the past couple of years, my house has appreciated a couple of thousand. It is just the type of house that was in mind for the CRA. Older, 1100 square feet or so. Well under $100k.

My house isn't that much bigger, yet it was certainly a "McMansion" to the couple that sold it to us.

The "easy money" problem spanned a broad range of housing markets, from low income neighborhoods to upper middle class. They all got inflated. Shouldn't be difficult to envision a low-income family getting "rich" off of CRA-influenced appreciation and moving into a middle class home. It happened all the time, at least around here.

Net effect is that everything got inflated.
