Not exactly a ringing endorsement from fellow 'hockey moms'... Here's an account of the event: zimbio.com Philadelphia found itself at the center of the presidential election over the weekend. And it seems the City of Brotherly Love let the rest of the country know where it stands. While lines for Barack Obama's Philadelphia rally were reported to be five blocks long, Sarah Palin was booed while dropping the ceremonial first puck at the Philadelphia Flyers' opening game. The famous hockey mom and politician showed up to the game only to be met with a crowd turned against her. From the Washington Post: "Palin, called "the nation's most popular hockey mom" by the Flyers Web site came out to drop the puck with Cathy O'Connell, winner of the Flyers' Ultimate Hockey Mom contest (and a McCain supporter). The moment her name was announced, enthusiastic boos rained down from the arena stands, though they were soon muffled by loud music piped through the arena's sound system.
