Does seem like a strange thread.... here's my take on my belief in the womans right to chose FWIW:

1.) Conception is sperm and egg of course... they 'fuse' and become one.
2.) The sperm brings one set of genes and a bit else... the womans EGG on the other hand brings ALL the rest including the other 1/2 of the genetics needed. It is the "environment" in which new life begins. The woman donates all the 'cytoplasm'- all the organelles, etc which will make up ALL the cells of the organism (here human).
3.) Just like the womans egg is the environment for the new life, the womans body is the environment new egg. Without the right conditions in the womans body there would be no egg survival... no baby.
4.) In fact, there is no life in the womb without the mother and her body maintaing the conditions suitable for that life... they are not separate from each other. This is literal in every way, not some idea... the new life is completely dependant on... in fact not separate from the mother. Like it or not the father is expendable now...but a mother losing a baby is psychologically like losing a part of her self and there are many studies on this. The two are emotionally connected, and are literally not separate from each other.
5.) The womans body regularily terminates pregnancy when "conditions are not right"...
6.) There is no way for me (a male) to possibly know what type of 'signals' a womans body is sending that leads her to chose to have an abortion or what these signals might mean in relation to the health of the baby or mother while carrying to term.
7.) So I leave these things up to women.
