Unfortunately Mr. Stefan I have to remember many things besides Zippo. And most of those things are extremely unflattering and quite depressing for the predatory omnivores ironically identified as: homo sapiens.

Suffice to say that while I suspect ferroelectric IP will become widely employed by the market in the next 2-3 years... the part to be played by RMTR in this market remains to be seen:

Ultra low cost Solid State (3D/1T-FRAM) device design by Hitachi
google.com

There's been a spate of such patents [none assigned to RMTR to my knowledge], but I suggest a review of the "Background Of The Invention" section of the above patent. It gives a succinct outline of Hitachi's view of DRAM/HDD prospects and their explanation of why 3D/1T-FRAM may have a brighter future than other IP including OUM and MRAM.

But be that as it may, the greater concern to me at present are the rules of "predation" within the various levels of our financial markets and society. Despite our recent brush with collapse I see no evidence at all that adequate corrections will be made. In fact I see little evidence that anyone in charge is even willing to admit the depth of the problem. As best I can tell the guiding principle of the reform to come will be:

Preserve as much of the historic imbalance of power for Broker/Bankers as possible.

Their first order of business appears to be the institutionalization of the CDS market... when its dismantling should be a major objective. <sigh>

Not that it's surprising in the least. We have failed in the reformation game so many times already that I just don't see any reason to expect we're capable of changing. Our drive to sell pure crap... as though it were life eternal... knows no bounds.

At this point I have to assume the problem is genetic. We are addicted to this unfettered selling of junk; we embed it in every aspect of our lives. It shapes our personal relationships, our religions, our weight, our work, games and laws. It is everywhere we are. Moreover we cannot contemplate life without it.

Imagine we could pile up all the valuables and property stolen, i.e., any taking without consent or permission, by all the felons in every jail in the world. Would it come anywhere near $62 trillion? Would it even amount to $1 trillion??!

But here we are... The entire globe awash in essentially worthless CDS paper. The consensual sale of which has caused the total reorganization of the world's banking system, incalculable disruptions and worse. Yet do we hear a single authoritative voice calling for the prohibition, much less criminalization, of such "innovative" sales of pure crap? How can this be justified?

No Mr. Stefan... I wouldn't fret over any January "dump" too much. Nor will RMTR's "winning" or losing be of much significance. The future may all be written in non volatile ferroelectric circuits, but in 15 years, 20 at the outside, the power of Broker/Bankers... apparently soon to be augmented by the power of their Insurer brethren... will very likely trap us in a black hole of "wonderful" CDS (Crappy Deadly Stuff) so massive that not even our vaunted "Light of Reason" will help us escape the gravity well.

Its just my guess mind you, but... following a brief reprise of Robespierre's Greatest Hits... I suspect we will have to call on yet another talented salesman of basic design. You know... one who makes us all feel that we are better and more deserving than we ever were... or will ever be. One who will no doubt establish a "new and improved" Bank... which will proceed to sell us a "new and improved" load of crap.

Unless of course... well... there is an slim chance that we may be saved by The BIG Rock which, oddly enough, is expected to arrive in about the same time frame! <Hoo><ack><pHooie>
