The dudes a prevaricator. The accident aboard the Forrestal was caused by a technician troubleshooting a missile rack and unfortunately he caused a short that pickled the ordnance.

If for some reason a bomb happened to fall of someones plane, unless they were next in line to be launched, their bombs wouldn't be armed anyway and wouldn't explode on impact.
