McCain's not a friend of Calley. "There is no information to prove" that McCain's not a friend of Calley. They were both in Vietnam; guilt by association. Different time, lots of different emotions. It's pretty amazing that every election we seem to be interpreting the Vietnam script. This year it's the POW, Bill Ayres thing... last election it was Kerry and his hero status vs. the draft dodger. As much as it was a formative part of my life, maybe we should just dump the whole Vietnam thing. It's like a ghost that haunts this country and every election.
