Paul, your IBM research is faulty. Most of their 0.35 micron megafab output is devoted to ASIC chips used internally and sold to other companies. They also sell a lot of DRAM. PowerPC chips are a minor part of their business and are unlikely to ever grow very much. Most of IBM PC CPUs are x86 chips, not Motorola designs.
