There is a list of the complaints against ACORN here that seems pretty factual:

I don't have time to look your link carefully right now, Rambi. I'm tied up in meetings for the rest of the evening right up to the debate. And then I will definitely not work on this.

Help me remember to take a look tomorrow.

However, just quickly. pajamasmedia is, as I recall, a fairly RW blog. So, to do justice to the issue, I would have to track beyond it to see about the claims.

As for your statement that the Obama campaign "donated heavily" to ACORN, the only thing I've seen is what Obama said, that sometime back they used an adjunct group for some work--I don't think it was voter registration, something else--and paid them $800k.

Perhaps I'll get back to this tomorrow. But I would need something fairly solid to believe that ACORN itself is a problem. At the moment, I'm willing to believe they provided sloppy oversight to folk they hired to do voter registration. That's all. From my experience with them, "sloppy oversight" is definitely a possibility. They were not accountants or managers. Just wonderful, dedicated community organizers working on housing for the poor. Better folk you could not find.
