A covered call has basically the same risk / reward profile as a short put. In both cases the profit is limited to the premium received - and potential maximum risk may (theoretically) equal the price of the stock, if it goes to zero. Which one to use depends on other aspects of the game plan, of course. OT - Just received the new book by Le Carre. Afraid, though that it may take me several days until I can get to it... too busy. But it ain't going anywhere, I'll get to it... :)
