I couldn't live without them! I can't watch this crap all the time, so, I let trailing stops mind it for me. I think the trick is setting the stop loosely enough to accommodate some volatility. I like 5% stops in general.

I think trailing stops are practically REQUIRED with double long and double short ETF's.

Nothing makes me feel better than to come home and find one of my stops has saved me from a massive loss, even if I take a small loss. Because they're trailing, more often than not they secure me a gain, if I've predicted the market direction right when I bought.
