I'm sure Joe the Plumber is a great guy and works his ass off... but it's hard to feel for a guy making $250,000 complaining about taxes. Like every other plumber I know he probably writes off as much personal stuff to the business as he can and does a fair amount of... uh... "cash" work.

Perhaps this is who McCain advisor Phil Graham was thinking of when he remarked that "We're becoming a nation of whiners."

Thanks to McCain, Joe's name was mentioned 13 times in the opening minutes of the debate alone, according to Reuters. McCain tried to use him to show how Obama is a typical tax-and-spend liberal who will soak workaday Rust Belt entrepreneurs and force them to sell their F-150 pickups or whatever.
