If the term "redistribution" bothers you, look at all of those activities above. Each is moving moving money from Joe's pocket to other pockets. But the outcome, to some extent, is to keep Joe with a pocket. And something in it I'm all for money moving in and out of Joe's pocket and the pockets of others be it via commerce or government. Except one. I find the government taking money from Joe's pocket and putting it directly into what it decides are more deserving pockets, aka redistribution of the wealth, both (a) wrong and (b) not sustainable. Your slipping that notion in with reputable vehicles doesn't redeem it and confuses the question.
