ballot goes into a security envelope which in turn goes into a larger mailing envelope. My name is printed on the envelope. There is a declaration on the back that swears you are who you say you are. You have to sign and date.

That is one thing I like about our state's voting system.

There are several things I don't like, such as the candidates can't declare for one party or another, only express a preference.

Have you read the Voter's Pamphlet? There's a lot of stuff to vote on in there.

Why do we have a legislature anyway if we have all these initiatives that the voters probably don't know squat about??? I'm serious. I thought this was a republic. I don't want to have to study in detail such complex stuff. I just want to hire and fire representatives to do it for me.

Question: Can the county clerk determine whether or not you voted, and can you verify that your vote was counted?
