I am not opposed to a healthcare sales tax.

I do think that once we reform healthcare to the same cost structure as Canada, France or Germany (who pay half what we do to insure their ENTIRE POPULATION), 2 things will happen:

- Lots of drug and medical companies will go under. Most of these don't have a sustainable business model, they just skim off the bad system we have
- other than the above, all these OTHER COMPANIES like even Detroit and many small businesses etc are going to see their bottom lines improve immensely.

The USA will be much better off because these drug firms like DNA or GILD are these intellectual property houses that don't really generate a big wealth effect. Take the money we are paying these scam firms for $1K per dose drugs like Gardisil (that don't even WORK) and give it to detroit or Deere or some heavy manufacturer. The world will be a better place.
