Allen' It would be great if the US could afford to give all its citizens the cushy benefits Norwegians get, without taxing them into the ground. Sadly, we can't. Interesting comments. The US never lacked a bounty of resources, we just never managed them well. Not only minerals, but the US had fantastic farming and timberlands that had potential very much like the oil rich nations. We gobbled them up and now wonder what happened. We could also have given our people cushy benefits, but we choose to other things with our money - especially the wars now makes that very clear. These are all chooses we made. steve
