>Look whose side the MSM is taking with regard to Graeme Frost. The attacks came from right-wing web sites, and the MSM immediately moves to defend the Frost family:

Yes, but that's because the media is fact-checking... The stuff that the McCain campaign was pushing positive things about Joe has been turning out to be false, so the fact-checking makes him look bad. With the Frosts, the wingnuts were pushing negative stuff that was false, and the media ended up defending the Frosts in its fact-checking.

I'm not 100% comfortable with the media digging into a guy's background so deeply, but from a web media business perspective (which is what I do), it makes a ton of sense. When a guy's name is mentioned half a dozen or more times in a debate watched by tens of millions, if not hundreds of millions of people, his name is going to get millions of hits on Google and other search engines (hell, when I was trying to confirm the Keating relationship today, I probably searched his name ten times). If you're a major newspaper, and you don't publish several stories about him, you've shorted yourself (and your shareholders) probably millions of dollars in ad views. I go over this with my site's editors all the time (just talked with my Editor-in-Chief about it about three hours ago).
