If he spreads it around, by increasing income taxes, it hurts the super rich less than the "wealthy", "near rich", "slightly rich" etc. because of the reasons I stated.

Hannity's call in show today has been interesting -- he has been taking calls from Obama supporters only. I am ASTONISHED by the number of people calling in giving as their reason, "Oh, I don't make 250K and I could use some of that money". It is amazing to me. I cannot imagine ever having my hand out wanting to take someone else's money like that. It is anathema to me.

Suppose his cutoff, instead of 250K, was $5M. Would that change anyone's support for Obama?

It seems to me that people who would accept money from those making 250K would certainly take it from those making $5M. And those who wouldn't take others money would refuse to do so on the moral grounds of, "What I make is mine, and what someone makes is his".

I just find the entire argument to be awfully strange.
