10/17/08 update Wall Street's roller coaster gave investors another wild ride for their money. When the week's closing bell rang and the screaming ended, the Nasdaq Composite Index was down -35.48% YTD (vs. -37.81% YTD a week ago), while the Nasdaq Biotech Index was down -16.08% YTD (vs. down -21.02% YTD a week ago). Tracking the NBI's loss reduction for the week, the Contest portfolio median closed down -34.45% YTD (vs. down -39.12% YTD a week ago). At week's end, 2 of the 33 portfolios were in the black YTD, with 5 beating the NBI. The GENE & ROBERT portfolios remained No. 1 & No. 2, with Gene sporting an 81.5% YTD gain and ROBERT, back in the black again, a 7.6% YTD gain. Have a terrific weekend folks!
