Well I voted for G.W. Bush the first term but not the second term.

To me the Republican Party reinvented themselves, although into what I'm not entirely sure but sure enough to know I fail to recognize the Party it once was. The Republican Party was a Party that at one time represented less taxation, smaller government, and smaller budgets with accountability. This Administration turned that upside down. I say this Administration in that it was the entire Republican Party for having the failed responsibility for nominating and choosing GW as their candidate of choice in both 2000 and 2004. I would have voted for John McCain in 2000 if he was the Republican nominee and 2004. It was too bad for America that he was not. Bush and Co. was a failure of epic proportions, imo.

I like John McCain. With that being said I have to admit my dismay in having to watch how he has morphed into a lackluster candidate because of the backing by a Party I have become sickened and angered with. His Party is what has tarnished his image and sheen. He himself has,in some sense, lost his way for having to cow tow and carry the banner for such the dysfunctional Party that it has become. Eight years has aged and distorted this proud mans ability to effectively govern because of a broken and distorted fabric in our governmental cloth currently run by the elected. This country needs serious change, imo. Eight years has lessened his sheen in my eyes. This is not easy for me to admit. I believe John McCain is a man of valor, courage and integrity. But he has chosen the wrong Party at the wrong time in our history. This country needs change and reform and he will not be able to adequately provide enough of what is needed.

Hence,my vote will be for the Democratic candidate for the United States Presidency,Barack Obama.

PS: I suppose I will lose a few friends and gain a few foe when all is said and done. To thy own self be true. Each and everyone of us must find our own path. We come into this world alone and will certainly leave this world alone. While we here we can agree to disagreee and let democracy prevail. And may God have mercy on us all.
