When such regulations did not exist, we saw things like factory rooms full of women painting watch dials using paint brushes dipped in radium. The women were told to wet the brushes with their mouths. Most of them developed cancer of the lips and tongue, and went on to die horribly.

I thought of you as I watched last night's 20/20, John Stossel's politically incorrect politics. One of his points about government regulation is that it's always aimed at solving ancient problems, which is regulations fatal flaw.

Did anyone else see the show? It's such a treat to encounter a libertarian POV for a change. I'd be interested in seeing any comments.
