As examples, here is my short list. First, you will see every initiative to make taxes more progressive framed as "tax reform."

I've seen flat tax schemes called "tax reform" plenty of times.

Another given is that global warming is a coming disaster.

On that one, Karen, you need to read more science, IMHO. The question is when, not if. Just to point to one of many highly probable disastrous results: How fast will the ice in Greenland and Antarctic melt to raise sea levels, thereby contaminating coastal aquifers and cause extensive flooding in the majority of major cities of the world that are built near oceans. All the talk in the world about "adaptation" won't prevent those things from happening, even in Holland, which is busy raising their dikes another 20 feet even as I type.

But, true, probably not in your lifetime or mine, so why bother thinking about it...
