"An increased reliance on clean coal, which I personally favor, would do the same. Regardless of the choice, CO2 will be produced because it is dictated by the laws of combustion."

Webster - the whole issue of clean coal is one of the great misleads of the campaign. Obama is for clean coal. That is his stated policy. What he does not say is what "clean coal" is in his mind. Here is the definition from his web site.

Develop and Deploy Clean Coal Technology.

Obama’s Department of Energy will enter into public private partnerships to develop five “first-of-a-kind” commercial scale coal-fired plants with clean carbon capture and sequestration technology.

Please note that clean coal for Obama means CO2 capture and sequestration. In the Kentucky primary he said he supported Kentucky coal. Well - yes he is for it while he is completely against it. Why - because the technology does not exist. I will leave the readers to characterize this type of posturing. His positon on nuclear energy is similar.
