I look for a modest drop in GLD/POG, perhaps to 750. But the stocks are at or very near the bottom.<<<

Even before I read that, I had decided to eliminate one of my last bear-fund positions and put the money into PMPIX, the 150% gold-producer fund. I have horrendous losses on my previous PMPIX positions, but actually I find that reassuring for future prospects.

As we all know, I suppose, the biggest winner in stocks in the Great Depression was Homestake mining, after FDR depreciated the currencyby 40% (i.e. rasied the gold price). And some of us remember the great gold bull market of some 30 years ago.

As I just posted elsewhere, I woke up last week and found I had turned into a gold bug, just like Gregor in Kafka's "The Metamorhosis."
