"SunPower's panels are the most expensive per watt (you are paying for the highest efficiency)"

Do you know roughly what this premium is? is it a few cents per watt or tens of cents per watt?

I realize that as a country we are going to have a tough few years as the housing and job market bottom out...but let's say we reach 8% unemployment and 10 million homes foreclosed (higher than anyone currently estimates) over the next couple years, and furthermore lets assume that 5x as many people are so worried about their economic situation/paying existing bills they won't consider solar...there is still a huge market (basically the other 50%) opportunity for solar, especially relative to current penetration.

Will growth be slower than if the economy was chugging along? yes...but the solar market overall will grow quite rapidly all the same.
