Well, being the weekend, and a little politics being allowable,

I expect that clean coal is not "ready" when Republicans propose it, but pretty much the same technology will be acceptable when Democrats propose it. ;-)

Maybe a few sequesterization experiments and showpieces, and the rest based on today's "clean coal" technology.

I expect something similar with offshore drilling - the royalty money, other tax money (on those oil companies) and high paying union and steel worker jobs will be seriously tempting. Of course key areas will be 'preserved'.

I don't know if this will extend as far as nuclear power, but it could, as part of some carbon tax deal. That might take a few years.

The Democrats long term ticket for dominance is getting economic growth happening as soon as possible, so I expect they will say yes to much of what they were sawing no to the past 8 years.
