Folks,

technologyreview.com

Article from Technology Review explains the benefits of millimeter wave technology. However, what the article does not tell its reader is that electro-optic polymer-based modulators are already being employed in millimeter wave technology and it blows away the competition. Asyrmatos is getting ready to deploy wireless transmissions at 10 Gbps (40 Gbps in the future). Asyrmatos acquired their technology from Lumera in February 2008. The advantages of the Asyrmatos platform are as follows:

"The platform can switch between frequencies adaptively in a frequency-hopping environment, or when needed simply by changing the frequency band and the channel context. The company says this offers security against interception, interference, and some forms of denial-of-service. This capability also serves to improve reliability, robustness, and can massively increase throughput when the multiple frequencies are used simultaneously." EE Times Europe.

Now imagine if a company such as Intel wanted to partner up with Lightwave Logic to develop a millimeter wave communications system much more robust, reliable and cost-effective than that of Asyrmatos or anyone else.

GATES.
