I can tell that bothered you when it happened, because you are the least rude person I know so it's a surprise when you get smacked down while trying to be polite. But you are in good company- almost everyone here seems to have gotten a PM to that effect. I quit because I knew I would get one sooner or later, and plus it's just not worth the angst.
Every once in a while, if something really just NOT true gets posted, I may chime in. Like on that Judge's order to produce O's birth certificate which wasn't an order at all. Another I would have liked to explain, but I don't think I did, was the strange belief that because a lawyer goes inactive it means something is wrong. That's nonsense-you pay a small fee to go inactive, whereas it's much more expensive and involves taking CLE every year to stay active. Lawyers entering different fields often go inactive. I know my husband did when he went into management. Implying that Michelle, who left formal practice, somehow lost her license for 'nefarious doings' well, that's stupid. That kind of supposition just irks me. It's so irrelevant to anything.
But it seems to be all they have left. And who knows, maybe it will work. When I see the Joe the Plumber raised to the level of star, I am completely bemused. I have no problem with new blood- in fact, I think we all welcome it- but let's at least expect it to be qualified blood. Let Joe run for mayor first before we make him President :) |
