In the past, HD has been adversly effected by periods of excessive rain in certain regions. I guess people tend not to buy as many gardening products and building materials for outdoor projects. I recall hearing this explanation for a bad quarter more than once during the past seven years. However, maybe the company has diversified into enough markets that this would no longer have an effect. I was'nt really thinking about El Nino in terms of a natural disaster, although in retrospect it certainly has that potential for the US. I agree 100% that HD would benefit from a natural disaster located in or near a major city. Enough of this pessimism, HD is a great company that will completely dominate its industry for decades to come.
