This idea baffles me. Every possible voter does not do much to learn the issues, and the vote of such people is easily influenced by others.

I do not think we need that kind of voter at all.


Interesting response, MM. Since that's precisely the kind of voter the McCain campaign is appealing to. They are running the classic "fear your opponent" campaign which is designed to appeal to the "low information" voter. Obama has run a policy based campaign, by and large, which is designed for a "higher information" voter.

But I'm of the opinion that we should try to see that every possible citizen votes. Doing so leads citizens to care more about elections and learn more about the choices.
