About all I know is that most people with myopia have astigmatism as well. The VISX laser has been used to treat both myopia and astigmatism in Europe and Canada with great success. FDA approval for the treatment of astigmatism with the VISX laser is imminent. I think a breakup of the partnership would be great for VISX so they would not have to share their royalties with Summit. VISX is greatly outselling Summit. The last qtr. sales % change was +417% for VISX and -21% for Summit! VISX has an EPS rank=76, Summit has an EPS rank=3. Summit is going to have to defend against multiple class action lawsuits and could possibly emerge in bankruptcy. VISX is clearly the play to make.
