The MEDIAN family income in the US is $50,282.

Which is well above anything that could reasonably be considered a one or a two on a scale of one to 10.

Compared to the world, its more like a ten. Compared to the developed world its above 5, compared to the US as a whole, its 5 (technically 5.5 on a scale of one to 10, and 5 on a scale of zero to 10, but most people treat 5 as the midpoint on "one to 10" rankings) if you compare it to the median income, and well above "1 or 2" if you compare it to the average.

Our country has the largest disparity in relative wealth of any developed country

I'm not so sure about "any developed country", but any large highly developed country may be true.

But that disparity isn't because the poor have it so bad here but because the rich are wealthier than the rich in most other places.

The poorest 10% in the US are wealthier than the poorest 10% in many other developed countries.
