Recorded history is recent. People were swarming Egypt 10,000 years ago at the end of the ice age before writing. By 5000 years ago, there would have been loveliness in Egypt but drying already. Habitable regions have moved north as the glaciation dwindled. That is one of the cycles which is ignored in Greenhouse Effect theory. Plants [and animals] move north then south then north then south as climate changes, with the plants themselves driving the climate in a vast game of chicken.
