RE: "With a 40% weighting in international, have your funds been significantly impacted by the currnecy crisis in Asia?"

Good question. On a related topic:

Several months ago Bob began announcing on his radio show that his suggested foreign holdings no longer included a fund specializing in the Far East excluding Japan. He indicated that he did not think it was wise to focus on the Far East because of the currency crisis in Asia. (He switched from his previous suggestion of a 10% weighting in Far East Ex-Japan.)

He definitely was correct on that call. As soon as he made the switch, I exchanged my Far East Ex-Japan fund for a European fund. Since that time, the Far East Ex-Japan fund has incurred significant losses. When I sold, the fund share price was $9.11. Today the price is $6.81, which is a loss of more than 25% in three months or so. (I guess this story also addresses the buy and hold-rebalance idea as well.)

My question now, is: Given the generally accepted idea of "buy low, sell high," is it time to get back into the Far East Ex-Japan???

Best wishes,

I2
