I don't know what you are talking about. You seem to be trying to obvuscate the basic point with trivialities such as the exact FICA tax rate for this year.

My point is simple it is the same as Buffett's point.

Mr Buffett said that he was taxed at 17.7 per cent on the $46 million he made last year, without trying to avoid paying higher taxes, while his secretary, who earned $60,000, was taxed at 30 per cent.

Now, irrespective of this, the fact is the fiscal situation in the US is a MESS thanks to Bushonomics. We don't have the luxury of talking about who will get a tax cut. The issue is more like who will have their taxes RAISED. Based on my view that Buffett is correct, above, and that the lower wage workers are taxed at almost DOUBLE the rate of the higher wage, those higher wage earners are the ones who have to carry the water.
