10/24/08 update
For me, at least, Friday's closing numbers don't look as terrible as the week felt. But there's certainly nothing to cheer about. At week's end, the Nasdaq Composite Index was down -41.48% YTD (vs. -35.48% YTD a week ago), while the Nasdaq Biotech Index was down -18.75% YTD (vs. down -16.08% YTD a week ago). And the Contest portfolio median closed down -38.27% YTD (vs. down -34.45% YTD a week ago).
Only contest leader Gene's portfolio remains in the black YTD, with 5 of the 33 portfolios beating the NBI. Gene's portfolio closed the week up 81.1% YTD, with ROBERT's portfolio, in second place, closing down -1.4% YTD.
Forget the market troubles and enjoy the weekend everyone!
