Japan did horrible for over a decade. Recession conditions for over a decade with 1% interest rates. I hope we are not pursuing the Japanese model of capitialsim, where we prop up financial institutions that should otherwise fail, thus prolonging the pain. It seems like we have a similiar crony capitialism that is trying to protect our financial institutions, which might put off the healing and recovery.
