Neo, we didn't go into glaciation during the Maunder minimum because conditions were not right. As I have explained, there are many variables which lead to glaciation. Getting a Maunder minimum isn't enough.

Regarding volcanic eruptions, the pressure changes need to be relevant. Taupo is an unusual situation because it includes a large hydro-electric storage lake and a lot land around it with highly variable ground water levels. Being a large area, air pressure is also relevant.

Volcanoes like Ruapehu are different. It has a narrow vent so air pressure is trivial. So are ground water levels irrelevant. Crater lake is a little thing which doesn't vary much.

It looks as though you heard it first from me. If you think about how things work, you'll see that Sol and Moon pulling together can do the trick [if other things are ready to go].

That makes me the credible source!

It's pretty obvious that that's how it works. Just think about the mechanisms involved.
