That's a very good point, BB. The plan has been for years to take the conservative agenda and fashion a lasting majority around it. It's not a matter of reaching out to the center in a Rovian campaign, except to scare them into not voting for the opponent.

But the whole "right will rule" model has been blown to smithereens in the last eight years. It's very possible that conservative politics of the Rove-Limbaugh-etc. brand will be consigned to exile like Goldwater conservatism was in the 60's and 70's, a very long time indeed.
